Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council commissioned McKenna Pearce to design a replacement single span bridge to replace an existing double span bridge. The change was necessitated because of a proposal to construct a ‘turning right lane’ into the new Radisson SAS Hotel site for traffic heading towards the city centre. The bridge is a steel structure using concisely designed bolted connections to accommodate the County Councils requirement for cost effective design.
